she and her ex-husband were abducted by aliens, Fran Drescher believes

Fran Drescher has been through a lot in her 53 years and according to the actress, that includes an alien abduction.

Drescher, who is best known for her roles on "The Nanny" and her new series "Happily Divorced," also believes that her ex-husband Peter Marc Jacobson was abducted.

"You know, it's funny because Peter and I both saw [aliens] before we knew each other, doing the same thing, driving on the road with our dads," Drescher told the Huffington Post recently. "We were both in junior high. A few years later, we met, and we realized that we had the same experience. I think that somehow we were programmed to meet. We both have this scar. It's the exact same scar on the exact same spot."

According to the entertainment site, Jacobson is slightly more skeptical about the incident, explaining that Fran's scar is likely from a drill bit or burn.

"I said to him, that's what the aliens programmed us to think," Drescher said. "But really, that's where the chip is."

Drescher's rep had no immediate comment regarding the quotes.

Drescher's TV Land series "Happily Divorced" was officially renewed for a second season on July 20. The network ordered another 12 episodes of the comedy, which is scheduled to premiere on March 7, 2012. The show, which premiered on June 15, has averaged over 2.2 million total viewers.

In the series, the actress plays a Los Angeles florist named Fran who is forced back into the dating pool after learning her husband of 18 years, Peter (John Michael Higgins), is gay. Since neither of them can afford to move out of their home, they're stuck living together which makes moving on difficult.

The show also stars Tichina Arnold as Fran's best friend and Rita Moreno and Robert Walden as her parents.

The storyline for the show was inspired by Drescher's real-life marriage of 21 years to Peter Marc Jacobson, who came out of the closet after their divorce in 1999. Jacobson and Drescher co-created the series and also worked together on "The Nanny" and "Living With Fran."

Initially, Drescher planned to only write and produce "Happily Divorced," but she eventually decided to star in the series as well. TV Land ordered 10 episodes of the series in March. Like early episodes of "The Nanny," the show was taped before a live studio audience.

Jan Brewer Share Tense Tarmac Moment,President Obama, Arizona Gov.

Longstanding tension between Republican Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer and Democratic President Barack Obama flared into the public spotlight Wednesday just after Air Force One touched down in Phoenix.

Brewer, who was on the tarmac to greet Obama, hand-delivered a letter before engaging the president "intensely" for several minutes, including pointing her finger directly at him, according to Politico's Carrie Budoff Brown, acting as a pool reporter for other media outlets.

Accounts from both camps later said the terse talk focused on Brewer's book - "Scorpions for Breakfast: My Fight Against Special Interests, Liberal Media and Cynical Politicos to Secure America's Border."

The book, which was released in November, describes a June 2010 Oval Office meeting between Obama and Brewer aimed at diffusing conflicts surrounding Arizona's controversial state immigration law and the administration's immigration policy.

At the time, the White House called it a "good meeting," while Brewer's staff said it was "cordial."

But Brewer paints a much different picture in her book.

Brewer complains in "Scorpions for Breakfast" that she and her staff were treated coldly by White House aides, prevented from taking pictures in the holding room outside the Oval Office and that their cell phones and cameras were  "confiscated" by Secret Service.

"Too bad we weren't illegal aliens, or we could have sued them," she writes.

During her meeting with the president, Brewer said Obama was "condescending" and professorial, "lecturing" on his efforts to promote comprehensive immigration reform.

"It wasn't long before I realized I was hearing the president's stump speech," she said. "Only I was supposed to listen without talking. Did he care to hear the view from the actual scene at the border? Did the opinions and observations of the people of Arizona mean anything to him? I didn't think so."

"He was patronizing," she said. "Then it dawned on me: He's treating me like the cop he had over for a beer after he bad-mouthed the Cambridge police, I thought. He thinks he can humor me and then get rid of me."

Obama raised his objections to Brewer's account face-to-face with the governor Wednesday.

"He was a little disturbed about my book," Brewer told reporters after the meeting broke. "I said to him that I have all the respect in the world for the office of the president. The book is what the book is. I asked him if he read the book. He said he read the excerpt."

Obama told Brewer "that he didn't feel that I had treated him cordially," Brewer said. "I said I was sorry he felt that way but I didn't get my sentence finished.

"Anyway, we're glad he's here. I'll regroup," she added.

A senior administration official later told reporters that Obama's comments were in response to Brewer's request for another one-on-one meeting.

"The governor handed the president a letter and said she was inviting him to meet with her. The president said he'd be glad to meet with her again, but did note that after their last meeting, a cordial discussion in the Oval Office, the governor inaccurately described the meeting in her book," the official told reporters, on condition of anonymity.

Brewer, who said in her letter to Obama that she wanted to discuss "Arizona's comeback" with him, did not attend the presidential event at a Phoenix factory today. But she did make several subsequent media appearances to talk about her tarmac encounter.

In an interview with KFYI radio in Phoenix, Brewer said Obama was "somewhat thin-skinned and a little tense, to say the least."

"I was very surprised.  I was taken aback.  I really was," she said.  "I was shocked by the sternness of it all."

'Grey's Anatomy' role reprise By Katherine Heigl love

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Katherine Heigl wants to set the record straight: She loved the six seasons she played Dr. Izzie Stevens on "Grey's Anatomy" and would gladly return to the ABC medical drama.

"I would be thrilled if they asked. I think it would be just so wonderful to have the opportunity to just sort of round out the character, have a few episodes to just discover where she went, what she's doing now and (have) one more loving, romantic scene with Alex (played by Justin Chambers)," the 33-year-old actress said in an interview Wednesday.

Although it was rumoured that Heigl left the show on bad terms, she said it was because she wanted to focus on her daughter, Naleigh.

"That was a really, really difficult decision," she said. "You know, you are always going to grapple with something like that because it was a great experience and I didn't really want to go. But I felt ... like I need to make her and my husband and our life together as a family my priority."

Heigl has been busy promoting her latest comedy, "One for the Money," with 3-year-old Naleigh joining her on the talk-show circuit. (Heigl is one of the movie's executive producers.)

The film, in theatres Friday, is based on the first book in the popular Stephanie Plum mystery series by Janet Evanovich.

Heigl stars as Plum, a New Jersey lingerie saleswoman-turned-bounty hunter charged with bringing in her high school flame.

AP: Why do you want to set the record straight about "Grey's Anatomy"?

Heigl: I feel like it was a very innocent question asked last week, and my first instinct and innocent answer was, 'Oh yeah, I'd love to go back if they wanted me to.' And it's turned into this story! ... I wouldn't want anyone to feel misled or feel confused by my answer and I just want everyone to know, 'Hey I love that show and I love that character just as much as you do.'

AP: Since leaving the show, you've starred in several romantic comedies. Are you worried about being typecast?

Heigl: They tend to be the movies I watch when I'm home and hanging out and want to relax. I want to watch Kate Hudson, I want to watch Reese Witherspoon, I want to watch all those great movies that make you feel good. So I loved being a part of them and I didn't mind being typecast, but any time you start to wander outside the box a little bit people start to get confused. ... This one is an interesting one because it wasn't a conscious decision not to do romantic comedy. ... The book explores so many different themes that in order to honour it properly and do right by it we couldn't just turn it into a romantic comedy.

AP: You're in a scene where you're naked and handcuffed to a shower-curtain rod. Was that scary to shoot?

Heigl: It was really nerve-racking and I'll tell you what ... seeing it on a very, very, very big screen at the premiere, it was a very different experience. I was like, man that was embarrassing. It's a lot of me.

AP: Did you have to mentally prepare for those scenes?

Heigl: We spent a lot of time joking around and being silly about it because it is so absurd and there are things you can do to sort of cover the most private bits, I guess, but they almost look worse — the pasties look even more bizarre than if I had just gone for it.

AP: How has motherhood affected your career?

Heigl: My career had been my primary focus for a very long time and that's a very self-absorbed path. It's all about me. It's all about what I want. It's all about what I need. ... And having Naleigh in my life has put that all into a perspective that's much more peaceful and much more profound. I feel very blessed, very grateful to have it because I feel like I can breathe. ... When Naleigh is in a room, whatever that special and unique thing that child has puts me in a frame of mind and a place where I like myself better.

Ex Gabriel Aubry’s OF Halle Berry Child Endangerment Investigation Heats Up

Halle is being interviewed by investigators after a nanny claimed Gabriel pushed her during an argument — is daughter Nahla safe around him?

Halle Berry‘s baby daddy Gabriel Aubry is facing some serious charges from nanny Alliance Kamden, who claims he shoved her into a door while she was holding 3-year-old Nahla. And now Halle’s getting involved! “Even though she wasn’t a witness to the event that occurred with the nanny and Gabriel, she has a very strong narrative about what the nanny had told her had been occurring over the past several months,” a source told RadarOnline.com. “There is absolutely no love lost between Halle and Gabriel.”

Halle met with the investigators for about an hour, and the source said she wanted the officers to have all relevant information to the case.

But Gabriel insists the claim is baseless — he says the nanny tripped and fell herself!

“Gabriel is fiercely protective of Nahla,” the source explained. “Gabriel can’t believe how out of control this situation has become. He is hopeful that criminal charges won’t be filed against him.”

The fight with the nanny reportedly started because she was upset nobody told her Nahla didn’t go to school. The source revealed that Gabriel was upset because “he felt like his parenting skills were under attack again.”

Now he faces misdemeanor and child endangerment charges. Which story do you believe, Gabriel’s or the nanny’s? Should Halle get full custody of Nahla?

Cardiovascular Risk May Occur By High Fructose Consumption

An analysis of 559 adolescents age 14-18 correlated high-fructose diets with higher blood pressure, fasting glucose, insulin resistance and inflammatory factors that contribute to heart and vascular disease.

Heavy consumers of the mega-sweetener also tend to have lower levels of cardiovascular protectors such as such as HDL cholesterol and adiponectin, according to researchers at the Medical College of Georgia at Georgia Health Sciences University.

These dangerous trends are exacerbated by fat around their midsection, called visceral adiposity, another known risk factor for cardiovascular disease and diabetes. The association did not hold up for adolescents with more generalised, subcutaneous fat.
“It is so very important to provide a healthy balance of high-quality food to our children and to really pay close attention to the fructose and sucrose they are consuming at their home or anyone else’s,” said Doctor Vanessa Bundy.

“The nutrition that caregivers provide their children will either contribute to their overall health and development or potentially contribute to cardiovascular disease at an early age,” Bundy said. The best way caregivers can support healthy nutrition is to be good role models, she said. A healthy diet with plenty of physical activity – not dieting – is the best prescription for growing children.

“Adolescents consume the most fructose so it’s really important to not only measure the levels of fructose but to look at what it might be doing to their bodies currently and, hopefully, to look at cardiovascular disease outcomes as they grow,” said Doctor Norman Pollock.

While animal studies have had similar findings, evidence in children is needed to support dramatic steps to curb consumption, such as asking schools to remove soda and other vending machines or, at least, to limit access, Pollock said. The researchers said that more study is needed to flesh out the relationship between high fructose consumption and cardiovascular risk and whether these early associations forebode adult disease.

Fructose, or fruit sugar, is found in fruits and veggies but also in high fructose corn syrup, the sweetener used liberally in processed foods and beverages. Researchers suspect growing bodies crave the cheap, strong sweetener and companies often target young consumers in ads.

“Fructose itself is metabolised differently than other sugars and has some by-products that are believed to be bad for us,” Bundy said. “The overall amount of fructose that is in high fructose corn syrup is not much different than the amount in table sugar but it’s believed there’s something in the syrup processing that plays a role in the bad by-products of metabolism.”

The filmmaker will alter the scene “out of respect and sensitivity for those who suffer from leprosy,”  Aardman said in a statement.

report says: Demi Moore hospitalized after inhaling whip-its full of nitrous oxide

Demi Moore was doing "whip-its" -- a type of nitrous oxide inhalant -- before she was rushed to the hospital earlier this week, TMZ reported.

The troubled actress became semi-conscious and had symptoms of a seizure after inhaling a dangerous amount of nitrous oxide -- a gas typically inhaled by young people looking for a cheap high -- a friend told paramedics who attended the scene, the gossip site reported.

The 49 year old was rushed to the hospital from her home in Los Angeles late Monday night, before checking into a treatment facility Tuesday to reportedly seek treatment for substance abuse.

Her rep said that she was seeking "professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health."

However friends of the star said she went to rehab because she is "emotionally and physically exhausted" over her painful split with Ashton Kutcher, who is "acting like a teenage boy," the New York Post reported.

One friend told the newspaper that Kutcher, 33, who was spotted partying with Brazilian supermodels Monday at Sao Paulo fashion week, continues to flirt with women while still calling his ex "when he is at a low moment."

"Demi was talking to Kobe Bryant at a CAA Golden Globes party, and Ashton came over and made a scene," the source told the newspaper. "He made jealous comments to Kobe, then Ashton went to the bar and was openly flirting with other women."

"Demi put up with a lot from Ashton -- and despite the rumors, she always gave him the benefit of the doubt." the source continued. "Now he's carrying on like a teenager, goes around with other women, and then, when he's feeling scared and lonely, he reaches out to Demi."

The friend said Kutcher's behavior was taking its toll on the star, who has pulled out of her latest movie "Lovelace," adding that Moore felt "exhausted and humiliated."

Moore announced she was ending her marriage to Kutcher after six years -- amid reports he had engaged in multiple extramarital affairs.

Rihanna tweets photo of knuckle tattoo inspired by slain rapper Tupac (but softens message with pink ink). Good Girl Gone Thug!

She has millions in the bank and an entourage which would dwarf a basketball team.
But despite her life of excess, money and privilege, it seems Rihanna would rather be branded like a common thug.
The wayward singer revealed her new etching - the less than poetic slogan 'Thug Life' - inscribed on her knuckles in a fetching pale pink shade.
She tweeted the picture, posing with her fists clenched to show off her bizarre new inking.

Last September, the Only Girl In The World star was pictured blowing kisses to fans on the balcony of her hotel in Brazil having written the words on her hands in a pink Sharpie pen.
But now it seems Rihanna has gone under the needle for the permanent body art, adding the caption: '♫ All these b****es screaming that 2pac back ♫ #THUGLIFE.'
The Brit-winner appears to have taken inspiration from rapper Tupac (2Pac) Shakur's tattoo, who had the same slogan inked across his stomach.
The slain rapper was murdered in 1996, after he was shot four times during a drive-by killing.
Rihanna also posted a separate message on Twitter, saying: 'Tat my f***in name on u girl so I know its real!!! #MINE'
A reference to friend and rapper Drake's (who featured on Rihanna's single We Found love) single Free Spirit, where he namechecks 2Pac’s girlfriend Kidada Jones who had his tattoo on her arm.
She also appeared to have a new marking on her back, as she is pictured lying on the tattoo artist Mark Mahoney's table with a bottle of beer.

The Barbadian beauty paid tribute to him online, adding the caption: 'My boo Mark Mahoney!!!! #RockstarS*** #TATnight'
Mahoney is most known for his black and grey work, and more specifically images of religious icons, bombs, and guns, and has worked on Britney Spears, Nicole Richie, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

In another snapshot, she cuddled up to Machete actor Danny Trejo, who lifted up his T-shirt to flaunt a large design on his chest of a lady wearing a Sombrero.
Rihanna appears to be missing the attention of adoring fans since finishing her Loud Tour last month, with continuous tweeting of her whereabouts including her post-festive beach holiday.

The 23-year-old is a huge fan of tattoos, with approximately 14 to 15 visible inkings already.
She has a music note on her ankle, a Pisces sign behind her right ear, the word 'love' on her left middle finger and a trail of stars on the back of her neck, alongside the French saying 'Rebelle Fleur' - which means rebellious flower.
